The magic may be the look in a loved one's eye. It might be the way the light glances off of the water before sunset. It might be the ring of a concluding chord of a beautiful performance. As a photographer, my goal is to capture in an image a little bit of that magic -- to convey what it was like to be in that moment, and to pass that along through a photograph.
I have a photojournalistic style, with a focus on "real" moments. That genuine smile looking at a graduation cap and reflecting on a collegiate career. The emotion on a player's face as they score. That breath after a job well done. A quiet look between partners. The glow after a musical performance.

I can't remember a time when I didn't routinely have a camera in hand, capturing images from all across the globe, ranging from the performing arts to sports to portraits. And for over 30 years, I've been behind the camera shooting at the University of Maryland. With deep ties to the music program, campus, and athletics, I've covered what seems like every inch of this campus. I'm an avid traveller, having shot in hundreds of cities and 6 continents.
I use top-end Nikon equipment, and have a full complement of professional lenses to assure the best in quality. For the gear-heads among us, I shoot on Nikon Z9 and D6 bodies, and have lenses ranging from 14mm through to 300m. If you're interested in the details, just ask, and I'm happy to share.
